Ms. Sarah Meyers, Language Arts Teacher
 

Mr. Tom Martin, Spanish Teacher
Mr. Tom Martin began to learn Spanish when he spent two years in Argentina in the late 60’s. He began his college education at BYU studying horticulture and spent several years working in the timber industry, and some in other varied fields. After 25 years he returned to his education at Chico State and graduated with a degree in liberal studies with Spanish minor. Graduate work has been to obtain a multiple subject credential with Bilingual Cross cultural and language & Academic Development with a Spanish emphasis.

Mr. Martin has taught bilingual kinder in the Corning School District for two years. For the last several years he has been teaching English as a second language to Spanish speakers with the Corning Adult School.

Mr. Shane Humphreys, History Teacher
Mr. Humphreys is a 4th generation Californian and has lived in the Red Bluff area all his life. He and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 2 years and are both very involved in the community through 4-H, the Dairyville Orchard Festival and the Ide Adobe State Recreational Park as re-enactors of life in the 1850's. They live in Paynes Creek with their dog, Chloi, on his wife's family ranch where they help her parents tend to the hay and cow/calf operation. He enjoys hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Mr. Humphreys also plays softball and likes working with wood and making log-pole furniture.

 

Ms. Monica Stocks-Pleitez
Monica Stocks, our mathematics teacher, graduated from CSU Chico in 1998 with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and minored in sign language. Upon receiving a teaching credential, she taught in Lincoln for 8 years where she taught math including pre-algebra to algebra 2 and coached cross country and track.

Ms. Sarah Meyers
Ms. Meyers earned her teaching credential from CalPoly, San Luis Obispo and taught her first year at SRDCS in 2007/2008 - what a great addition to our staff! When the 2008-2009 school year begins, she will be Mrs. Vierra! Congratulations!

Mr. Larry Newman, School Administrator
Mr. Newman comes to SRDCS for the 2006-07 year after a 36-year career in education. He graduated from CSU, Chico with a Bachelor's Degree in History and a minor in Chemistry in 1968. He earned a Master's Degree in Counseling from LaVerne University in 1986. He has a lifetime secondary teaching credential, a community college counseling credential, and a community college administrative credential. He retired in July of 2004 and is re-entering education on a part-time basis at SRDCS.

Mr. Newman was a teacher/coach at Anderson High School for 17 years. During that time he taught in the social sciences, sciences, math and physical education departments. He coached boys' and girls' basketball, baseball, softball, and football. He later moved to Butte College where he was a counselor and basketball coach. For the last 13 years of his professional life he worked in the administration at Butte finishing up as the Dean of Instructional Services.

Mr. Newman has been married to his wife, Lena, for 37 years. They have three adult children and eight grandchildren. They currently live in Cottonwood where he also coaches J.V. basketball at West Valley High School. His primary interests are his family, church, and sports. He is an avid golfer and a lifelong SF Giants and SF 49er fan!

Mrs. Marci Fulks, Business Manager
Marci came to us with 30 years' office experience, including secretarial, accounting, human resources and office management   Affectionately "Mom" by many students has been with the school since its beginning as a parent and 2002 as office staff.
