Who we are —
Sacramento River Discovery Charter School is located in historic Red Bluff, California, approximately half-way between Sacramento, our state's capital, and the Oregon border. We are a "school of choice" for students in grades 6-12, helping to build a population that better understands, appreciates and manages natural resource systems.

Discovery Charter students are a community of learners that use their environment as an integrating context. The main classroom is the great outdoors, focusing on local habitats such as the Sacramento River, Mendocino National Forest, Lassen Volcanic National Park and Vina Plains. Students divide their time between classroom academic study and integrated field work.

Discovery Charter School students have opportunities to develop individual and collaborative projects both on-site and off. The Discovery Charter School has partnerships with public agencies and private organizations, creating internships for high-school students to learn from and work with experts in various areas of natural resource management.
